Mr. Sebastian Duke Jr., Director of Assessment & Accountability, mentioned, "La Joya ISD is providing teachers and administrators with training on the NWEA MAP Growth & Fluency assessment platform to ensure that all students work toward achieving or surpassing grade-level expectations annually." šš

š From exploring various teaching methods to offering practical activities, our goal was to foster a supportive writing environment in the classroom. Cynthia Alaniz, Bilingual/ESL Supervisor, highlighted, āThe focus on practical, hands-on activities ensured that teachers could immediately apply what they learned in their own classrooms, fostering a more effective and engaging writing instruction environment.ā š¬š

šš On the second day, La Joya ISD Pre-Kindergarten teachers and instructional assistants are undergoing training on the new 2024-2025 Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum! šš The goal of this training is to prepare them to provide young students with a valuable educational experience that fosters their development and lays a strong foundation for their future academic success. šāØ

⨠We're thrilled to host training sessions introducing high-quality instructional materials for the upcoming year! For grades K-5, we'll be using Eureka Math, and for grades 6-9, we'll be integrating Carnegie Learning. šāļø
Our educators are diving into the LJISD Math Curriculum for 2024-2025, packed with amazing resources to deliver top-notch math lessons!
Mrs. Brenda Garcia, our Executive Director for K-12 mathematics and science, shared, āWeāre so excited to have our teachers at today's training sessions. From kindergarten to 8th grade, our math teachers are getting hands-on with Eureka Math and Carnegie Learning. These incredible materials will help our students develop critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and reach their full potential. Weāre ready and enthusiastic for the new school year!ā šš¢
